Ibanez EGEN8 Herman Li Signature Guitar Demo – IBANEZ GUITAR CENTRE

0 Ibanez EGEN8 Herman Li Signature Guitar Demo IBANEZ GUITAR CENTREThis is a demo of the Ibanez Egen 8, which is one of Herman Li’s signature guitars. The Egen 8 is the little brother of the Egen 18 and is a little bit more affordable than the 18. The main differences between the two guitars is the pick ups and the bridge. The EGEN 18 features Dimarzio Herman Li pick ups and an Ibanez Edge Zero floating bridge. The EGEN 8 has IBANEZ V7, V8 and S1 pick ups instead, and an Edge 3 floating trem. Both models feature a push/pull pot which allows you to turn the humbuckers into single coils which gives you 10 different tones and an extremely versatile guitar which can play anything from blues and jazz to metal. In this demo the guitar was played through a Rivera Knucklehead Tre and an Orange PPC412 Quad box.

    @bibiranger Sorry, …
    @bibiranger Sorry, you are correct. I thought it had the same pickups, and I forgot those crappy s series have the ZR trem. Im not a fan of anything ibanez is doing at this time anyway. The premiums are a step in the right direction, they need to do a premium S series. My point was this is an overpriced guitar simply because it has Li’s name on it is all.

    @AaronBellDeo his point is good, but he shoudnt inform people with the wrong info:O, but is the dude doesnt like the color, what else would let him wanna buy thi guitar, the name?? in my country its like 200 dollars more expensive than an s570, and 100 or 150 euros away from a ibanez premium,

  14. AaronBellDeo Says:

    @bibiranger You’re …
    @bibiranger You’re absolutely right. The ZR bridge is WAY better. So, tell everyone here why he was wrong? Those V7/V8 pups arent that great either. Id swap them out either way. He’s not correct about everything, but that doesnt mean his point is wrong.

    The Egen8 isn’t worth the money it costs dude.

    @JgHaverty same zr bridge? the egen8 doesnt have a zero resistance bridge lol, ur talking complete nonsence, do more research before posting complete bullcrap lol… ur makin a fool out of urself,

  17. JgHaverty Says:

    @ …
    @theguitarshredder987 i was talking about the “cheap 800 dollar” one…. same zr bridge as the 470. Same nut as the 470. Same pickups as the 470. Has two extra frets and cutouts.

    The egen18 is a whole different monster, not gonna compare that to a 470 at all. The egen8 is a hunk of shit; no use arguing that.

  18. theguitarshredder987 Says:

    @JgHaverty cool …
    @JgHaverty cool down man. its more than cut outs. your paying for an outstanding bridge and locking nut as well as special pickups only available on this guitar with 11 different comination and a sick finish. side note, this guys playing the cheap 800 dollar version

    I played this model …
    I played this model and the s570dxqm. The herman li sig action was high and the store owner told me the gold would wear off soon. When i picked up the s570 it felt good its super slim but i got used to it. So i bought it. I wish i would have gotten the herman li though for the push pull effect. Best of both worlds, but im fine with the s570 for now.

    @njalkat3 “How are …
    @njalkat3 “How are the tremolo’s in comparison?”

    Oh, sorry, I don’t use tremolo’s much to know the difference. Actually, the only time I use it is to cover certain tunes – something like the subtle tremolo stuff Frank Gamble does on “Spike song,” but nothing deeper than that. I use the Ibanez “shred guitars” for their ability to cover various genres – from the Al Di Meola/John McLaughlin neck pup solos, to the twangy R&B/Pop/Funk thing. LP’s and SG’s can’t do that without SERIOUS modding…

  21. njalkat3 Says:

    @TheTranslator100 …
    @TheTranslator100 How are the tremolo’s in comparison? ZR blows Edge III out of the water right? I’m planning on changing the pups anyway.

  22. TheTranslator100 Says:

    @njalkat3

    The …
    @njalkat3

    The guitar at Guitar Center was actually an S770PB, which I prefer anyway. Now for the comparison:

    The action on the S770PB is considerably lower and easier than the EGEN8. However, the EGEN8 has noticeably greater punch in highs and clarity; most likely attributed to the muddy INF’s on the 770. In short; if high action is your thing, go with the EGEN. However, mods can be made to the 770, such as higher quality pups and coil-tapping. Both are great guitars, and I’m keeping both.

  23. njalkat3 Says:

    @TheTranslator100 …
    @TheTranslator100
    Tell me how the s series plays compared to this guitar when possible!

  24. TheTranslator100 Says:

    @JgHaverty “What …
    @JgHaverty “What model did you play?”

    I just got the EGEN8 I ordered last week. It’s a great sounding guitar; especially in distortion mode, but the action is way too high for my taste. Of course I can lower it, but the string-buzz is atrocious. However, there’s a notable hike in sound quality compared to my lower priced RG470AH and RG350DX – even with the RG’s modded with Dimarzio pups. I’m gonna look at an S570DXQM that’s at Guitar Center, and see what kind of action is on that thing.

  25. JgHaverty Says:

    @TheTranslator100 …
    @TheTranslator100 Im all about the indo’s for the low range guitars. The 200$ ones are just fine for their cost. Its the ones that are selling for 4-500$ that are crap fests. This egen 8 is far over priced, and the newer s470′s are garbage, especially with that ball bearing trem setup. FWIW Korean s470′s are some of my favorite guitars.

    What model did you play?
