Ibanez EGEN8 Herman Li Signature Guitar Demo – IBANEZ GUITAR CENTRE
Jan 23, 2012 ibanez guitars
This is a demo of the Ibanez Egen 8, which is one of Herman Li’s signature guitars. The Egen 8 is the little brother of the Egen 18 and is a little bit more affordable than the 18. The main differences between the two guitars is the pick ups and the bridge. The EGEN 18 features Dimarzio Herman Li pick ups and an Ibanez Edge Zero floating bridge. The EGEN 8 has IBANEZ V7, V8 and S1 pick ups instead, and an Edge 3 floating trem. Both models feature a push/pull pot which allows you to turn the humbuckers into single coils which gives you 10 different tones and an extremely versatile guitar which can play anything from blues and jazz to metal. In this demo the guitar was played through a Rivera Knucklehead Tre and an Orange PPC412 Quad box.

Ibanez SA260QM TGB guitar demo – Tony Farinha @ Nevada Music UK
Jan 15, 2012 ibanez guitars
Buy the SA260 guitar here… http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/guitar/electric/ibanez-sa260qm-tgb-electric-guitar-trans-grey-burst The SA260QM from Ibanez is kind of more of what we have come to expect from one of the most popular guitar brands on the planet … Ibanez predominantly make electric guitars suitable for the rock or metal type genre – although they do have a range of other models, but most musicians would agree that this is what they have built their reputation on …
The SA260QM has a Mahogany body with a stunning quilted Maple top which is clearly visible through the Trans Grey Burst finish, the neck uses the Ibanez Wizzard II design and is made from Maple. It hosts a 24 fret Rosewood fretboard with inlaid dot position markers, sound comes courtesy of a single True-Duo humbucker along with two AHS single coil pick-ups which are managed by a single rotary tone and volume control and a 5-way blade-type pick-up selector switch. The tone control also functions as a coil tap which when puled out turns the bridge humbucker into a single coil.
The bridge uses a Sat Pro II tremolo system for smooth tremolo action and stable tuning, at the opposite end of the instrument you’ll find the usual style Ibanez “pointy” headstock with 6 x chrome die-cast enclosed machine heads positioned on the left hand side of the headstock. The Sat Pro II bridge is also chrome plated as is the tremolo arm. All in all, a great looking guitar which would be at home with almost any style of music. Highly recommended.

Ibanez Pre-Lawsuit Guitars Stratocaster Telecaster Les Paul part 1 (Baz Studios)
Jan 7, 2012 ibanez guitars
Here’s the real deal on Pre-Lawsuit ibanez guitars. The videos points out subtle things that make these guitars unique to the Hoshino Gakki Gen manufacturer. The Models shown are a 2375ASH stratocaster, a 2352 Telecaster, and a 2392 Les Paul.
In 1954, Mr. Rosenbloom decided to start a guitar manufacturing business to solve his inventory problem. He formed a new company called Elger Guitars, named for his children Ellen and Gerson. He brought in a German master violin maker named Karl Muller. Karl and his brother, Georg, led a small team of craftsman who designed and built the Elger Guitars in a workshop in nearby Ardmore, Pennsylvania. They continued to hand-build exceptional quality instruments until about 1964.
In 1964/65 Mr. Rosenbloom, in a stroke of remarkable insight, become the exclusive North American distributors for the Hoshino Gakki Gen Company, a Japanese instrument manufacturer. Hoshino had just bought a small Spanish guitar company named Ibanez and would use this as their product name. The Ibanez line of the 1970′s was then born.
In 1971, Hoshino bought Elger Guitars, regaining the North American distribution rights, and changed the name to “Ibanez USA”. Hoshino did maintain Elger’s Pennsylvania facilities to check incoming shipments and correct any flaws prior to shipping merchandise out to their dealers. It is also my understanding that the serial numbers were actually placed on the guitars in the USA when that practice started.
Ibanez discovered the way to success around 1970 when they started making copies of well-known American guitars like Gibson, Fender and Rickenbacker.
On June 28, 1977, Norlin, the parent company of Gibson, filed a lawsuit against Elger (Ibanez) in Philadelphia Federal District Court . The case was “Gibson Vs. Elger Co.” with Gibson claiming trademark infringement based on the duplicate “open book” or “moustache” headstock design of the Ibanez copies. Allegedly Gibson had threatened to sue Elger/Ibanez for a long time regarding the use of the headstock which Norlin claimed as a Gibson trademark.
Ibanez made an out-of-court settlement with Norlin and agreed to stop copying the Gibson headstock and using similar names for their instruments
In February 1978 Ibanez officially stopped making copies and headed to the next level. They started cranking out their great original designs.
What’s your favorite Pre-Lawsuit or Post-Lawsuit Ibanez model?

Ibanez Steve Vai JEM77V Guitar Demo – Sam Bell @ Nevada Music UK
Dec 29, 2011 ibanez guitars
Buy this guitar here… http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/Guitars/Electric-Guitars/Electric-Guitars/sc1437/p6203.aspx Steve Vai is a guitar icon recognised by all as one of the worlds most talented and recognised rock/metal guitar players. His career ignited when he began playing guitar with Frank Zappa in the early 1980′s before going on to join the David Lee Roth Band a few years later.
He later gained celebrity status after appearing in the Hollywood film “Crossroads” with “The Karate Kid” star Ralph Macchio playing the part of Jack Butler — The Devil’s own awesome guitar player, in the famous guitar duel at the climax of the film. A long time admirer and user of ibanez guitars it seemed a natural progression that Vai would ultimately become their star endorsee …
In collaboration with Ibanez Vai designed the Ibanez Jem range, instantly recognisable by the “Monkey Grip” handle integrated into the main guitar body. The body is crafted from Basswood — as is most of the Jem range perfectly complemented by a combined 5 piece Maple & Walnut neck and Rosewood Fret Board.
The pick-up configuration is the now traditional H-S-H which translates as a Hum-bucker at the bridge position, a single coil pick-up at the middle position and a secondary hum-bucker at the neck position, all of which are the Dimarzio Breed models. A five-way blade type pick-up selector switch provides a wide range of tonal options and the pick-ups are attenuated and equalised by a single volume and additional tone control.
The locking tremolo bridge is the Ibanez Edge Pro and features a unique Sound Metal Chip on each saddle which help increase sustain right at the most critical area, the intonation point. To avoid the problem of string holder blocks getting lost during string changes, the Edge Pro’s sliding string holders are actually part of the bridge and won’t drop from the saddle unit. With the Edge PRO design, there’s no need to cut off the ball of your strings when installing new strings as is the requirement with other locking tremolo systems.
The neck is tastefully decorated with an intricate design of leafy vines — known as the Steve Vai “Tree of Life” design. The body is in black with a mirror-style scratch plate creating a very cool image and a unique look for the Jem 77V.
